Sukkari dates from Saudi Arabia are often called the queen of dates — golden-amber fruit with a delicately crisp bite and a deep caramel-honey sweetness. Our Grade 1 Sukkari dates are packed in sealed 400g and 1kg packs, so they arrive fresh, plump and ready to enjoy. Explore our full dates collection.

What Are Sukkari Dates?

Sukkari (also spelled Sukary) dates are grown in Saudi Arabia, particularly in the Al Qassim region. The name comes from the Arabic word for sugar — a nod to their intense natural sweetness. Unlike the dark, very soft Medjool, Sukkari dates are golden in colour with a firmer, lightly crisp exterior and a soft, melt-in-the-mouth centre.

What Do Sukkari Dates Taste Like?

Honey, caramel and a hint of nuttiness, with a satisfying chew that is lighter than Medjool but never dry. They are a favourite for people who find Medjool almost too rich — Sukkari is sweet but lighter, and easy to enjoy a few of in one sitting.

Frequently Asked Questions About Sukkari Dates

What is the difference between Sukkari and Medjool dates?

Sukkari dates are golden, firmer and lighter; Medjool dates are dark, very soft and richer. If you love an indulgent, melt-in-the-mouth date, try our Medjool dates from Jordan. If you prefer something lighter and crisp-tender, Sukkari is the one.

Are Sukkari dates healthy?

Yes, as part of a balanced diet. They are a whole fruit with fibre, potassium and magnesium, no fat and no added sugar. A typical serving is 3–4 dates a day.

How should I store Sukkari dates?

Keep them refrigerated in an airtight container, as marked on the pack. In Hong Kong's humidity this keeps them fresh and prevents fermentation.

Do you deliver Sukkari dates across Hong Kong?

Yes. PRESTIGIOUS delivers across most Hong Kong locations within 2–3 working days. Free delivery applies to all orders over HK$395.
